About Me

One of my favorite things to do on a lazy Saturday morning is to hop in my car and drive. Anytime there is a fork or a stop, my wife or I will choose whatever direction feels best until something makes us stop and explore. If you haven’t tried this, you should. Found some lovely coffee shops this way.

This approach mirrors my career journey—guided by curiosity, but always with a sense of direction. As a social worker I quickly learned how to communicate and plan with people overwhelmed by a problem. Breaking through communication barriers, I untangled and interpreted client problems and made it easier to get them the help they needed, while making them feel safe and heard.

During my time working for an edtech nonprofit I honed my research and data synthesization skills.  As the sole administrative support to the Chief Operating Officer gathered and maintained internal and external member data and identified key metrics regarding retention, payment, and industry shifts.

While providing programmatic support for a human development organization I was part of a design team rebranding a contraceptive technology website. As we had limited design experience, it was difficult to convey needs to external developers. To streamline communication, and avoid excess financial burden, I created wireframes to bridge the gap. Internal staff had visualizations, and developers avoided numerous clarifying emails. I loved seeing my ideas come to life on the screen. It was through this work that I was introduced to UX design theory—and I finally had a name for the career I had unknowingly been building.

UX design is my perfect intersection of data, design, and communication. I am able to build upon years of honed skills, while also actively learning new methods in a constantly evolving industry. As I continue growing in this field, I’m eager to apply my skills in freelance, edtech, or healthcare—wherever I can help create intuitive, inclusive, and meaningful experiences. In this ever-growing digital world, I cannot wait to start my next journey!
